Termite attractive timber inserts are placed inside these external stations and are monitored on a regular basis by a qualified inspector for termite activity.
When live termites have been detected in the stations an insect growth regulator (IGR) chlorfluazuron, is then introduced which is the active constituent in the nemesis bait.
Active termites will then feed on the highly attractive bait food source and translocate the IGR to other members of the colony, at levels undetectable by those termites, until the colony collapses.
